As part of the Bonn University’s Information Booth, Prof. Maximilian Weigend and Dr. Jens Mutke are going to present the work of the Nees Institute and the Botanic Gardens at the Bonn Climate Change Conference (COP23 UNFCCC, Venue: ‘Bonn Zone’) on Thursday, November 16,  9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

This will include i.a. our work on the potential impact of environmental change on global patterns of plant diversity (e.g. Sommer et al. 2010, Mutke et al. 2011), as well as, the ongoing local assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the larger Bonn region within the BION network.
In addition, we highlight the role of Botanic Gardens as important players and knowledge-hubs for in-situ and ex-situ conservation of threatened biodiversity, as well as, showcase for nature conservation and environmental topics.

In addition, the Botanic gardens offer public guided tours in the garden on Monday to Friday (6.-10.11. & 13.-17.11.) at 12:30
